To create a welcoming community for women and underrepresented people in trades, construction, manufacturing, and STEM industries. We create experiences to connect outside of work.
Through these events, we address our two main goals: reduce loneliness experienced through underrepresentation in these industries and ensure the retention of women and underrepresented people in their chosen careers.
HOW IT STARTED
Women On Site was created by Constanza, an Environmental Technician, Darci, an Electrical Apprentice, Samara, a Red Seal Sheet Metal worker, and Tessa, Red Seal Bricklayer.
We are four women working in construction and saw the need for a community for people just like us.
Meet the Founders
Four women with different backgrounds - one same goal.
Co-Founder & Director of Events
Constanza is an environmental coordinator. She ensures that the sites that she works on are compliant with environmental regulations. Constanza has a large following on socials where she shares her knowledge and supplies women with in depth information on women's workwear. In her spare time, she enjoys being outside and spending time with her husband and two cats.
Co-Founder & Director of Marketing
Darci is an Electrical Apprentice with the IBEW in Hamilton, On. She is also a 4 position CWB Certified welder. One of Darci's passions is speaking to students about the trades, especially young girls who may not think it’s an option for them. Darci is a single mom to a 10 year old son that loves to hang with the WOS crew. In her spare time you can find her working on her brush lettering, going for a hike or playing video games with her son.
Co-Founder & Director of Communications
Samara is a 308A Red Seal Sheet Metal worker. After completing the Welding program at Algonquin College, she joined SMART Local 285 as a sheet metal apprentice. While completing her apprenticeship, she has been an active member of her union and advocates for diversity, equity, and inclusion. Off-site, she's searching for the next adventure, whether on a trail with her dog or in a game of dungeons and dragons.
Co-Founder & Director of Finance
Tessa is currently Canada's youngest female 402A Brick & Stone Mason with a specialization in Heritage Masonry. She documents her life as a tattooed tradie lady. When she's not on the tools - Tessa spends her time helping those in need. She is a passionate advocate for rescue dogs, the environment, and women in construction. Tessa also enjoys knitting, crafting, and spending time outdoors with her loved ones.
