Camp WOS 2026: More Than a Weekend, We’re Building a Community

From September 4–7, over Labour Day weekend, 100 Women On Site came together at Camp Timberlane for Camp WOS 2026.

For four days, women from different backgrounds, generations and stages of their careers had the opportunity to step away from their everyday routines and spend time learning, connecting, laughing and supporting one another.

Our WOS ranged in age from 19 to 65. Some had been working in the industry for less than a year, while others brought more than 40 years of experience.

But at Camp WOS, those differences became opportunities to learn from each other.

We saw experienced women encouraging those just beginning their careers. We saw newer WOS bringing their own perspectives and energy. We saw conversations turn into connections, connections become friendships, and friendships open the door to mentorship.

And that is exactly what Women On Site is about.

Community Goes Beyond Networking

We often talk about the importance of networking, particularly for women working in industries where they remain underrepresented. But what happened at Camp WOS went much deeper than exchanging contact information.

We saw women exchanging books and recommendations. We had yoga classes together on the dock. Women shared their experiences, talked about their careers and supported one another through conversations that continued long after the scheduled activities ended.

We even saw WOS offering other WOS references for future job opportunities.

But most importantly we saw the WOS community growing as strong as ever.

These may seem like very different moments, but they all have something important in common: women showing up for other women.

That is the community we want to continue building.

WOS is growing, but growth isn't only about numbers. What matters most is creating a community where women know that they have people around them who will support them, not only professionally, but personally as well.

Thank You to Our Sponsors and Partners

Camp WOS 2026 would not have been possible without the organizations that believe in what we are building.

A huge thank you to our sponsors Baffin, DEWALT and Greenworks,SMART Local 285, MWG, TROY, Sheridan, LiUNA and Ash Grove for your continued support of Women On Site and the women in our community.

Your support helps create spaces where women can meet one another, develop relationships, learn, grow and recognize that they don't have to navigate their careers alone.

We also want to extend a heartfelt thank you to Camp Timberlane for welcoming us and providing such a beautiful setting for this year's Camp WOS.

And Most Importantly, Thank You to Our WOS

To the 100 WOS who attended Camp WOS 2026: thank you.

Thank you for showing up.

Thank you for sharing your knowledge and experiences.

Thank you for encouraging someone who may be at a different stage of her journey.

Thank you for being open to new friendships and mentorships.

And thank you for continuing to make Women On Site a community where women genuinely support one another.

To all the WOS who weren't able to join us this year: we missed you, and you were still very much part of our community.

We left Camp WOS 2026 with new friendships, stronger relationships, potential mentors, professional connections, job opportunities and plenty of memories.

But perhaps the most important thing we left with was a reminder of why this community exists:

When women have the space and opportunity to connect authentically, we don't just build networks. We build communities that help one another move forward.

Until the next Camp WOS. 💪
